Clip Studio Paint EX is a comprehensive drawing, painting, manga, and animation software that provides unlimited frames for animation, multi-page comic and webtoon management, and teamwork features for collaborative projects. It is used by MSUM's School of Media Art Design and Entertainment for courses in 2D Animation.
Clip Studio Software is available in MSUMs Animation lab in CA167.
Students can find Step by Step instructions on how to download and activate licensing provided by their professor download & installation instructions.

Clip Studio Paint EX – New User Instructions
Students and Faculty will need to activate licenses with a link provided by the instructor or IT Staff.
- When a user clicks the activation link, they will be prompted to sign into or sign up for a Clip Studio Paint account.
Once signed into a Clip Studio Account, the user will be prompted to enter a User Identifier for their account.
Please enter you Starid – FirstName LastName before clicking Submit.
- The user will then need to click Activate License after confirming their entry.
- The user will then be brought to a confirmation page where they can click Check license details
for futher details.
