A remote desktop connection allows you to use virtually any computer or device in order to connect to another computer. Once you connect remotely, you get access to all the resources on the computer you've connected to.
Instructions for Remote Desktop Connections on Windows
- Open Remote Desktop Connection (Start - > run -> mstsc)
- Click on the arrow in front of ‘Show Options’
- Click on the Tab ‘Advanced’ and select ‘Settings’
- Click on the radio button ‘Use these RD Gateway server settings’
- Enter in ‘dragongate.mnstate.edu’ as the server name
- Uncheck ‘Bypass RD Gateway Server for local addresses’
- Click OK
- Go back to the General tab and enter in the workstation you would like to remote into
- Your username will have to be in the format of ‘Mnstate\StarID’
