ShareLink is an appliance that allows content to be displayed wirelessly to the audio/video equipment.
ShareLink allows connections from Apple, Windows and Android devices. These devices include Apple phones, Apple iPads, Android phones, Android tablets, Apple computers and Windows PCs. It is currently being utilized in Nemzek 100 and Center for the Arts 148.
Windows and Mac OS Install
Download from Software Center or MSUM Self Service app
1. Establish wireless connection
- Connect your computer/tablet to one of the following broadcast wireless networks.
- Students – DragonConnect-Student
- Employees – DragonConnect-Employee
2. Open ShareLink application
- If you don’t have the application on your computer please follow the application install instructions located at www.mnstate.edu/information-technology/services/sharelink/.
3. Enable Sharelink
- When you are in a ShareLink enabled room you will find a ShareLink button on the audio/video selection console.
4. Enter connection information
- Wait for the application to finish searching and opens choose a receiver window.
- Click on the manual button.
- Enter IP Address listed on the screen.
- Enter the Code listed on the screen.
- The username field is only for identification.
- Click on connect
5. Start video connection
- If multiple people will be displaying content at the same time, then choose one of the four quadrants to display your video. Other wise leave it at full screen.
- Press the play button.
Using iOS Mirroring
This feature allows iOS mobile device screens to be mirrored onto the display.
- Ensure that the ShareLink 250 W is powered and connected to the network.
- Connect your device to the ShareLink 250 W through Wi-Fi (see step 2 of Connecting to the ShareLink 250 on page 15).
- Ensure that the ShareLink 250 W is powered and connected to the network.
- Connect your mobile device to the ShareLink 250 W through Wi-Fi. You may connect through either of the following options:
- Connect to the ShareLink’s built-in WAP: Open the Wi-Fi networks list on your mobile device and look for your ShareLink receiver WiFi name as shown on the standby screen (see figure 4 on page 6).
- Connect to an external WAP that is on the same network as the ShareLink. Ensure that the external WAP and the ShareLink 250 W are wired to the same network. Open the Wi-Fi networks list and connect your device to the external WAP.
- Tap the AirPlay Mirroring icon on the iOS device.
- Select your ShareLink 250 W receiver from the discovered receivers list.
- If prompted for a password, enter the ShareLink login code, and press OK.
- The device screen is immediately mirrored onto the display. To stop presenting the device screen, select Turn Off AirPlay Mirroring.
NOTE: Options may look different depending on the iOS version.
