All academic courses that are for credit and listed on eServices will have a corresponding D2L Brightspace course shell created automatically that contain student enrollments. University policy states that students shall have, at a minimum, access to the syllabus, instructor's contact information and office hours in the D2L Brightspace course shell.
Instructors can merge course sections together into a single D2L Brightspace course if desired using the request help widget within a D2L Brightspace course. If the start date of a course has passed and an instructor wants to merge course sections together please reach out using the appropriate service request.
Instructors can create DEV (development) courses using the Request Help widget within a D2L Brightspace course. These courses will not have real student enrollments and are not to be for students taking courses for credit. DEV courses allow faculty to develop/create courses with more flexibility. Instructors can add other faculty to DEV courses making collaboration on course development easier. If a D2L Brightspace course is needed for a different purpose please complete a service request form.
