Getting Started with YuJa Panorama DocHub for Digital Accessibility

This article explains how to use YuJa Panorama to check digital materials for accessibility using the DocHub tool. It’s designed for employees who want to improve their document’s accessibility with automated reports and issue breakdowns.

What is the YuJa Panorama DocHub?

Creating accessible digital materials doesn’t have to be overwhelming. YuJa Panorama is a standalone tool that analyzes documents - such as PDFs, Word files, and PowerPoint presentations - for accessibility.

YuJa’s DocHub tool offers a clear, actionable scoring system to improve the accessibility of digital content. It generates a score based on how well the content aligns with accessibility standards and identifies areas for improvement.

Not all issues can be resolved in YuJa Panorama, so please reference this website for a list of accessibility issues that can be resolved with YuJa Panorama.

Uploading Materials to the DocHub

  4. Once uploaded, YuJa Panorama automatically generates an Accessibility Report. (It may take a few moments to for the report to generate.)
  5. Click on the file to open the Accessibility Report

Understanding the Accessibility Report

Each document receives a score from 0 to 100, based on factors such as:

  • Use of headings
  • Alt text for images
  • Table structure
  • Color contrast
  • Document language settings

Major Versus Minor Issues

YuJa Panorama categorizes issues by severity:

  • Severe Issues: The document is not accessible (e.g., the pdf is untagged).
  • Major Issues: These significantly affect accessibility (e.g., missing alt text, improper heading structure).
  • Minor Issues: These are less critical but still worth addressing (e.g., decorative images without alt text).

Start by fixing severe and major issues; this will quickly improve your score and make your content more usable for everyone.

Fixing Issues

From within the Accessibility Report, review the identified issues. To begin making corrections:

  1. Select View Issues from the right side of the report. You may choose to view all identified issues or select specific issues.
Click View Issues to begin fixing the document.
  2. Then select Fix Issue for each of the identified issues.
  3. Follow the prompts to make edits for each issue.
  4. Once you have worked through revisions, select Apply Fixes to Document.

Note:

  • As you make revisions, they will appear in the third part of the Accessibility Report.
  • Note, you may need to edit the original file source (i.e., Adobe Acrobat or PowerPoint) and re-upload to the Doc Hub to check your progress.
  • After updating your document in the Doc Hub, you can download the edited version and save/use/share elsewhere.

Tips for Success

  • Use the built-in accessibility checkers available in most content creation tools, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat, while creating your materials first. These tools can help you identify and fix common accessibility issues before uploading to YuJa Panorama.
  • Aim to address severe and major issues first, not for perfection. This approach helps you focus on the most impactful issues first and build momentum toward fully accessible materials.
  • Tackle one document at a time. Small steps lead to big impact.
