Overview

You can install common applications using the instructions on your MSUM device as detailed below. We also have applications available in many form such as in our remote applications, you can also browse our Software Application List to see what might be available.

If the software you need is not available using the instructions below and you need admin rights for installation, then please use the "Incident Request" button on this page

If you need a different application purchased then please visit the Software Licensing & Purchasing service. Please be aware that "Free" applications still need to be reviewed as often times the free versions are for personal individual use while anything utilized for university purposes or on an MSUM issued device may require licensing and/or purchasing.

On Windows

The Microsoft Software Center allows you to install software on a campus-owned, Windows-based PC (e.g., faculty/staff computer).

  • Click on the Windows Search Bar at the bottom left of the screen.
  • Type "Software Center" and open the application.
  • Find the app you want to download and click on it.
  • Press the Install Button.

On Mac

The MSUM Self Service application allows you to install software on a campus-owned, MAC-based device (e.g., faculty/staff computer).

  • Open the Spotlight Search (Magnifying Glass in top right of screen).
  • Type "MSUM Self Service" and open the application.
  • Find the app you want to download and click on it.
  • Press the Install Button.

Incident Request: If you still need help with something not working as it should or have questions, please contact the IT Help Desk or create a ticket using the "Incident Request" button on this page, or if there isn't one included then you can initiate it from the home page.
